Local Rules

WINTER RULES ARE IN EFFECT AS OF OCTOBER 17TH

Therefore, you can mark, lift, clean, and place your golf ball within 6 inches of the marker through the green, including the rough. You must keep the ball in the same cut as where it originally came to rest. For example, if your ball is 2 inches into the rough, you must keep it in the rough even if the 6 inches would reach the fairway. Also, you may lift your ball in the bunker, rake the area where your ball was lying, and replace the ball in the raked portion.

Rules of Play

R.C.G.A. Rules govern all play, and where applicable, the following local rules apply:

Water Hazards: Defined by yellow stakes or lines.

Lateral Water Hazards: Defined by red stakes or lines. Note: Flower bed right of #4 cart path is a Lateral Water Hazard.

Out of Bounds: Defined by white stakes, lines, boundary fences and concrete block wall/boundary fence on #18 and the parking lot/clubhouse adjacent to #9 and #18.

Obstructions: Anything artificial, cart paths, drain covers, water control boxes, irrigation heads, railroad ties, staked trees and protective fences. Rule 24-2; Relief - free drop within one (1) club length of nearest point of relief, no nearer the hole. NOTE: A ball lying in the bunker must be dropped in the bunker. (eg. holes #2 and #8)

Ground under Repair: Planted gardens, narrow ditches filled with stones and areas through the green defined by white lines. Rule 25-1; Relief - free drop within one (1) club length of nearest point of relief, no nearer the hole.

Drop Zone (#14 & #17): If your ball is lost in the Lateral Hazard, as an additional option to Rule 26-1, drop a ball, under penalty of one stroke in the Drop Zone located immediately forward of the tees you are playing.

Provisional Ball (#14 & #17): To speed up play, if there is doubt whether a ball is in or is lost in the water hazard on #14 or #17, the player may play another ball provisionally under any of the applicable options in Rule 26-1 or proceed to the drop zone (see above). If the original ball is found outside the water hazard, the player must continue play with it. If the original ball is found in the water hazard, the player may either play the original ball as it lies or continue with the ball played provisionally under Rule 26-1. If the original ball is not found or identified within the five-minute search period, the player must continue with the ball played provisionally. (This Local Rule not in effect for club tournaments)

Waste Areas: The bunker nearest the tee on the left of #5 is defined as a waste area and players may ground their club.

Distance Measuring Devices: A player may obtain distance information by using a distance measuring device ("DMD"). In competition, however, if a player uses a DMD that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect play (e.g. gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc.) the player is in breach of Rule 14-3. The penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used or activated.

Embedded Ball Rule: In effect through the green.

Wood chips and mulch are loose impediments.
