Nick Taylor finished in a tie for third place at the Canadian Amateur Championship in Blainville, Que. this week.

The Abbotsford golfer began Thursday's final round just three strokes back of leader Cam Burke, but failed to make any headway with a one-over 73. Taylor ended up finishing eight strokes in arrears of Burke, a New Hamburg, Ont. native who defended his Canadian Amateur crown from 2008. Taylor won the event in 2007.

Taylor, a Ledgeview product who currently holds down the No. 1 spot in the world amateur golf rankings, shot 72-68-70-73 (five under par) for the tournament.

Fellow Ledgeview member Kevin Stinson of Mission finished tied for 60th after shooting 74-75-71-80.
