Taylor, Hadwin off to NCAA Championship

Abbotsford’s Nick Taylor and Adam Hadwin piloted their respective college golf squads to the NCAA Championship during regional tournament action on the weekend.

University of Washington sophomore Taylor’s runner-up finish at the NCAA West Regional set a school record. Taylor shot 71-69-71 to finish two strokes in arrears of Oregon sophomore Joey Benedetti, and his Huskies finished 10 over par as a team, ending up fourth behind USC, Oregon and Clemson.

Hadwin paced his University of Louisville team to a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Central Regional, trailing only Wake Forest, Oklahoma State and Illinois. His rounds of 75-72-76 were good for 17th place in the individual standings.

Taylor and Hadwin move on to the NCAA Championships May 28-31 at Purdue University.
