Follow Nick Taylor's Progress
at the 2007 US Amateur

The U.S. Amateur Championship is underway at the Olympic Club, in San Francisco, and Ledgeview's Nick Taylor advanced to the match play portion of the event by shooting a two round total 6 over par, 146. This left Nick in a tie for 49 place out of a group of 315 competitors who started the event.

The second phase of the 107th U.S. Amateur commences on Wednesday, Aug. 22. The 64 survivors will again have to contend with the Olympic Club, a golf course renowned for its perils.

  In the quarter final round played on Friday afternoon, Nick's fantastic run at the US Amateur came to an end. He lost to Colt Knost of the USA, 5 up with 4 to play.
Congratulations Nick, on a great showing. Everyone is very impressed and proud of your exceptional play in the two national amateur championships.

In the third round played on Thursday afternoon, Nick defeated Jamie Lovemark, from the USA, 3 up with 2 to play. Only the best 8 players are now left in the tournament.

In the second round played on Thursday morning, Nick defeated Kyle Ellis from the USA, 5 up with 4 to play.

In his first round match on Wednesday, Nick defeated a player from the USA, Derrick Sipe, 5 up with 3 to play.
