Ledgeview's Nick Taylor Leads Canada
to the World Juniors

Team Canada, a quartet of juniors selected by the Royal Canadian Golf Association, has qualified to play in the World Junior Team Championship this summer after dominating their North American, Central-American and Caribbean zone qualifying tournament in Mexico. ( April 14,2006 )
Led by Ledgeview's, Nick Taylor, the Canadian team posted a resounding 19-stroke victory over host Mexico by shooting a team total of 13-over par 661 in the 54-hole event. Guatemala placed third, 47 shots behind Canada, while Trinidad & Tobago finished with a 712 total.
The Canadian and Mexican teams will now advance to the World Junior Golf Team Championship at the Chukyo Golf Club, Ishino Course in Toyota-shi, Japan June 20-23.
Taylor, the defending RCGA Future Links Pacific Champion, helped Canada take the opening round lead on the exclusive Club de Golf Mexico course by shooting the low round of the tournament, a 1-under par 71. Mitchell Fox of Okotoks, Alberta contributed with a par round that helped boost the Canadians in font by nine strokes.
Mexico narrowed the lead to eight after 36 holes but with Matt Hill of Bright's Grove, Ontario showing the way with a par 72 and North Vancouver, BC's Eugene Wong shooting 73, his best round of the event, Canada came in 11 shots clear of the field to ad to their margin.
Taylor was the tournament medalist at 3-over 219, two strokes front of Mexico's Jaun Pablo Solis.
Taylor now returns to Canada in time to tee off at West Vancouver's Capilano Golf & Country Club April 20-23 in hopes of defending his Future Links Pacific Championship title.
