Roadwork planned along McKee
Golf Course 'won't be adverseley affected'

A $3 million contract for roads projects in three different areas of Abbotsford was approved by city council on Monday, allowing work to start in early August.

The contract, awarded to Abbotsford-based Chet Construction Ltd., will see work carried out at Marshall Road between Townline Road and Queen Street; Queen Street between Peardonville Road and Wheel Avenue; and McKee Road adjacent to Ledgeview Golf and Country Club.

McKee will be widened, with additional work including a sidewalk, curb and gutter, and streetlights on the north side of the road. Staff say Ledgeview will be impacted by the construction but measures have been taken to "ensure the functioning of the golf course will not be adversely affected."

All three projects must be completed within 100 days.
