Course Improvements Are Now Complete
On Holes #5 and #8
If you haven't been around the club for a while, you may not know about the improvements that have been made on holes #5 and #8.

As we all know, the gully in front of the 5th green has been steadily falling away, and was starting to pose a threat to the green itself. Over the winter the grounds crew with the help of the city shored up the gully with many truckloads of rock. This technique worked successfully to stop the erosion beside the 17th green and hopefully will have the same effect in front of the fifth green.

An even bigger change has occurred over the winter on the 8th hole.

As you can see in the picture to the right, a very large new pond has been built. Please click on the picture, to see a larger image.

The pond starts in front of the blue tee box. This tee box has also being widened to the right so that players will have to hit over the new pond, making the hole even more difficult from the back tees.

Players playing from the shorter tee boxes should not be affected by the pond, unless they hit a "lateral" tee shot! In that case they might wish to consult our local PGA Professional, Brent McDuff!
