From all the positive feedback we have received from members and guests about the current state of the golf course, we owe a huge vote of thanks to Chad and his grounds team for their hard work in getting our course back into first class playing condition. Our objective now must be to maintain it at this level, both in the short and long term.
In the short term, we need to continue the great work done by the volunteers in June who came out for the work day to fill divots and repair ball marks. To achieve this goal, we are proposing an Adopt a Hole Program for the members. As you will see below, we have alphabetically assigned holes to members and are asking you to make a conscientious effort while you are playing that hole to fill in divots using the sand/grass bottles, and repair ball marks on the greens. Here are the assigned holes:
- Hole #1 Family names starting with A & B (to Baker)
- Hole #2 Family names starting with B (rest of Bs)
- Hole #3 Family names starting with C (to Chung)
- Hole #4 Family names starting with C (rest of Cs)
- Hole #5 Family names starting with D
- Hole #6 Family names starting with E & F
- Hole #7 Family names starting with G
- Hole #8 Family names starting with H
- Hole #9 Family names starting with I & J
- Hole #10 Family names starting with K
- Hole #11 Family names starting with L
- Hole #12 Family names starting with M

To address long term objectives, the Grounds and Greens Committee presented a Hole by Hole Audit to the Board at their July, 2009 meeting that outlines work that needs to be completed on the course over the next three years. The Audit includes 6 Work Plans (T Boxes, Grounds, Bunkers, Tree Planting, Asphalt, and Operations), a timetable for work completion, and an estimate of the capital costs involved by year. The Board approved the non monetary aspects of the Audit, and will consider the financial requirements when they review the Budget for 2010.
The Committee welcomes any comments members have regarding the Adopt a Hole Plan. In addition, if members wish to read the Hole by Hole Audit in detail, it is available from Kevin in the administration office.
